The dunes
The dunes of the costa verde are the highest in europe and a unesco world heritage. They are up to 100m high and home to some endemic deer, which of course we tried to spot. Found their traces but did not spot any deer.

Costa verda
Then a long drive to the costa verde. Seemed like reaching the end of the world. Tiny fisher villages with only one ways where even the bridge was a one way, and we were on the wrong side of it... do as the italians do we thought and drove over it. Villages that seemed deserted. No place to stop for lunch to be found. Decayed mines. Sheep on the streets. Finally we reached the costa verde. A long time ago when I was a little girl we came here with our camper bus. I have such nice memories of this place that I wanted to come back and see how it's today.
After this long and dusty ride we ware happy to jump into the surge but as alway the waves were to big and to wild so we had some wave fun instead.
When we are here back in the 1981 there was nothing except beach, dunes and 3 italians living in the ruins of the silver mine at the beach.
The beach was covered with shoes, probably a ship carrying a load of shoes had sunken and the shoes washed up at the beach. That was fun.
